Cornerstone Releases New Product Cornerstone Conversations
Cornerstone Conversations is a new product designed to increase communications amongst teams and improve coaching skills in managers. The product is connected to Cornerstone’s other talent management platforms so that it can function as a hub that connects continuous talent development with development and performance goals and metrics.
Conversations has two key features:
- Make Coaching Easier: By providing meeting templates and tips on results-driven coaching, it improves manager and employee conversations. Leadership can import their own meeting templates if the organization has specific coaching principles.
- Motivating Constant Development: Conversations has inline Microlearning suggestions based on role, goals, or development plans. The content is individualized on the employee’s Conversation’s home page so that they don’t have to leave Conversations to access content.
Conversations can be integrated with Outlook and Slack so that conversations can be scheduled without logging into the Cornerstone platform and managers can receive reminders to schedule meetings with their employees.
Regular and frequent feedback between managers and employees is a key to increasing productivity and engagement. Conversations is a tool to formalize those weekly one-on-ones and performance reviews so that managers and employees can access notes and action items at any time.
While this is not a reason to switch LMS providers, it does show that Cornerstone is evolving its product to align with demand from the increase in Millennials in the workplace and their desire for feedback and learning. It is a necessary feature for organizations without a formal coaching or performance management initiatives as the templates are built based on best practices.
