Apple Is Upping the Standard for Enterprise IT
Apple has announced several new consumer services. Your users will expect the same level of quality from their enterprise Apple experience.
Tim Cook started the Apple Event by sharing the principles of Apple services:

- Attention to Detail
- Privacy and Security
- Expert Curation
- Family Sharing
The rest of the presentation focused on several new services, and how these services relate back to the above principles.
IT has traditionally responded to the Apple hype by sticking its head in the sand – Apple devices patch themselves, right? But, people like their Apple devices because of the high-quality user experience. Users will expect the same quality from enterprise IT. Meeting this expectation will mean:
- Curating a collection of apps that will work on Macs and iOS devices
- Improving self-service capabilities on Apple Devices
- Offering personally-enabled devices, assuming that they will be used by employees’ family members
- Building user acceptance testing into your release and deployment and change management processes
- Aspiring towards “Geek Bar” level of customer service quality by improving ticket intake and implementing a continual service improvement program
