What differentiates Microsoft BizTalk Integration Platform from other similar products?
Once set up, it interfaces with a lot of our tools, another major benefit. The mapping functions work well. Additionally, the Biztalk 360 monitoring portal is probably quite cool. How simple it is to design and code solutions. Traditional middleware performs its function. Not much of a fancy. Neither disappointing nor overpowering. Although it is pretty expensive to maintain, given the overall move towards APIs, it would likely become outdated shortly.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
From an integration standpoint, this device is highly versatile. We just had to deploy a few necessary services on the application server to set up BizTalk in our test and production environments, which was made more accessible using the development package. We connected an ERP Financials system with a document management system to enable the scanning, viewing, and archiving of payment invoices.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Due to inadequate documentation provided by those systems, some of the original web service setups on the end-point systems made it more challenging to set up a connection with BizTalk; nonetheless, this was not a fault of Microsoft or Biz Talk. When necessary, Microsoft's excellent support staff filled in the gaps.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Microsoft's Biztalk has been a tremendous help to our team. It was really easy to use, and it allowed my department to integrate all of its systems without needing to modify any of them in order for them to work together properly. It was a pleasant surprise how simple it was to operate. Our software's problem is that occasionally submitting some JSON calls would fail. This doesn't happen all the time; it only sometimes doesn't function.
