Cerner and Amazon Web Services Partner to Share COVID-19 Data With Researchers

Cerner, a market leader in the electronic health records sector, has given health researchers on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic access to critical de-identified patient data on its HealtheDataLab platform. The platform is hosted on the AWS cloud platform. COVID-19-related clinical data and demographics are critical to track the spread of the virus. Included in the data sets is information about lab results, underlying illnesses, and chronic conditions, as well as clinical complications. Creating a comprehensive data set of health information will inform health researchers working in epidemiology, virology, and the pharmaceutical industry to find effective treatments or develop a vaccine to treat the virus.

Cerner is also working on a COVID-19 update to the Millennium platform to assist health systems to manage ongoing threats of the virus.
