Healthcare organizations are attracted to desktop virtualization technology to streamline desktop and application deployment, reduce desktop service costs and minimize hardware refresh costs. This was a finding of an in-depth research project on desktop virtualization.
The in-depth research project included surveys of over 200 enterprises as well as interviews with decision makers considering and deploying virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). In VDI a desktop is hosted as a virtual machine on a server and accessed from a PC or a thin client over a network.
