The Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) is an increasingly popular rating for selecting environmentally friendly IT equipment with a lower total cost of ownership. In fact, the U.S. government, which purchases 2.2 million computers a year, now requires that 95% of new PC acquisitions meet the EPEAT standards.
