SharePoint has become a very popular enterprise tool for managing important corporate information. Microsoft has incorporated some backup and recovery functionality to protect the SharePoint environment. Native Backup and Recovery Tools

SharePoint 2001 and 2003 provided minimal backup and recovery functionality. Some improvements were made in the 2007 releases of both WSS (Windows SharePoint Services) and MOSS (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server).
