The School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University recently completed a study of network security in the hotel industry. The participants of the study comprise a cross-section of the U.S. hospitality market, including business-oriented hotels, resorts, luxury hotels, as well as conference and convention centers. The study gathered data from 147 properties in total.
The results paint a dismal picture. Too many hotels are using outdated technology, and too few have adopted effective security measures.
