There's a problem with IT projects. They are rarely on budget or on time. They chew up project teams and cause sleepless nights. Here's a modest proposal: Improve projects by changing the name of the project management process. Focus on something that's respected by many IT professionals – beer.

Project Over-Confidence

IT professionals are remarkably optimistic about their projects. This cheery view is reflected in the names of our project management methodologies. They are "extreme" and "rapid" and "agile."
