This procedure describes the responsibilities and activities required of your organization to effectively respond to a discovery request. A request may be initiated for three different reasons:

  1. Litigation or the immediate threat of litigation.
  2. Compliance audits for external entities or regulations.
  3. Internal audits typically initiated at the request of Human Resources.

The procedure aligns with the principles outlines in the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
