The purpose of this tool is to generate a quote for System Center licensing to manage virtualized servers. This quote can be compared to current licensing for VMware virtualization products.
- Answer the diagnostic questions in Tab 2, "Diagnostic Questions."
- This will generate a six-year licensing TCO that can be viewed in Tab 3 "Six-Year TCO."
- For comparison, we have put in some example numbers for VMware vSphere Entrprise Plus, Enterprise Plus + Operations Manager and VM vCloud Advanced.
- Example VMware pricing is from available list pricing, you can also input custom pricing if you have received discounts.
This tool will generate a realistic six-year licensing TCO for your specific Microsoft license agreement type, and discount level. Use it as part of a business case for switching to Hyper-V and System Center, or use the output as a negotiations tool when dealing with other (non-Microsoft) virtualization vendors.
