Projects and Project Management (PM) have become critical parts of IT operations. It is no surprise the success or failure of IT projects reflects directly on the positive or negative perception of IT by the rest of the business. Info-Tech recently conducted a comprehensive survey of 227 different enterprises about their use of PM frameworks for IT projects. This group included a number of wholesale/retail respondents who demonstrated a relatively low level of maturity in managing projects in their IT departments.
