Haphazard reassignment of a PC from one employee to another can cost the organization dearly. Badly planned moves, adds, and changes (MACs) can significantly impact the enterprise in a number of ways by:

  • Driving up operational costs.
  • Negatively impacting end-user productivity.
  • Compromising the enterprise's ability to achieve return on existing and new infrastructure.

Enterprises can ease the pain by defining specific rules governing when older PCs are migrated to other users, and the process steps that must be followed.

Very good article - Our admin team wants us to get 6 years out of a PC! Needless to say, we keep telling them that's not feasible in most cases.
