In a time of rising energy costs and burgeoning social responsibility, many manufacturers are looking for new ways to streamline processes and improve energy efficiency. For some, ZigBee is the solution.

What Is ZigBee?

ZigBee is a wireless protocol designed for short-range personal area networks based on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard. It differs considerably from competitors like Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. ZigBee is designed to be an inexpensive and simple way of transmitting relatively small amounts of information at regular intervals.
