Use this catalog to maintain an inventory of all services and interfaces deployed in an integration or SOA environment. This catalog should be maintained by the authority responsible for integration services in the organization. Whether by the IT department or an Integration Center of Competency, the catalog should be managed by the roles responsible for the integrations.
The example outlined throughout this template describes the typical services and interfaces used in an order-to-cash process from purchasing through to accounts payable.
Expect to invest 0.5 Full-Time Equivalents (FTE)s per 10 integrations building out the inventory. This will fluctuate, depending on how much documentation and information about existing interfaces is available.
If maintenance of the catalog is integrated into the production deployment process for new services and integration flows, the FTEs associated with keeping the catalog current is minimal.
