Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) is one of Microsoft’s fastest-growing products in terms of adoption rate. In Info-Tech’s most recent study on SharePoint, over 40% of enterprises surveyed are either considering or already planning the adoption of MOSS.
Three Deployment Options?
According to MOSS documentation, there are three different deployment approaches available. SharePoint administrators upgrading from Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) will already be familiar with these three options. The difference with MOSS, however, is that this choice is not truly open to the discretion of the implementer. Two of the approaches are only appropriate for a limited set of conditions. Most enterprises will find a small server farm deployment to be the optimal choice.
