About Me
Rocco Rao is a Research Director and Executive Advisor with Info-Tech Research Group. With over 35 years of IT experience in the public and private sectors, Rocco has experience in all information management and technology domains and an expert level of knowledge in strategic planning, service management, outsourcing, IT financial planning and reporting, and vendor management.
Prior to joining Info-Tech, Rocco served as the CIO for the City of Brampton, where he provided the senior IT leadership to digitally transform local government services. He also served as the City’s executive representative for the regional public sector network consortium. As Director of IT Services at Toronto Pearson Airport, he managed several IT programs to sustain business growth during the airport’s redevelopment. Working with the international airline community, he led the development and operations of passenger processing and resource management systems. He has a strong working knowledge of commissioning data centers and campus area telecommunications network infrastructures. One of his major undertakings at Toronto Pearson Airport was the outsourcing of IT services. His role included RFP development, contract negotiations, and service transitioning. At the Region of Halton he managed one of Canada’s first government implementations of the SAP ERP system. He developed and led the corporate SAP ERP support unit that combined business application configuration and systems integration functions.
Rocco is an alumni of Mohawk College and McMaster University.
