Xandros offers desktop Linux, server Linux, and an e-mail server platform. In June 2008, Xandros will unveil the BridgeWays cross-platform management suite that promises to centralize and simplify Windows and Linux server management into one Windows-like control suite. Add a fresh infusion of cash from its partnership with ASUS and a case appears for Xandros' success, but significant challenges lay ahead.

Background and Direction

At its core, Xandros consists of the former Corel Linux team and technologies, acquired in 2001 when Corel got out of the Linux business. Xandros is now headquartered in New York City with research facilities in Ottawa, Canada, and a handful of development locations scattered across the globe.
