Desktop virtualization has transformative potential for how desktops are managed – moving from desktop asset management to providing desktops as a service. Info-Tech looks at developments in this space considering what needs to happen for transformative desktop virtualization to reach wider adoption in 2010. In this context, key attributes of View 4 include:

  • Introduction of PC over IP to improve the experience of remote accessing virtual desktops.
  • Integration with vSphere 4 for better VM management and more VMs per server (to lower TCO per desktop).
