- IBM
- Jive

- SocialText
These collaboration platform vendors have been evaluated across five key criteria and grouped across categories.

What happened to IBM Lotus Connections as a Collaboration tool?
Lotus collaboration portfolio comprises many different products, including Connections, Quickr and of course the Lotus Notes/Domino line. For our evaluation, Lotus Connections did not pass our screening criteria for team collaboration. However, Lotus Quickr did satisfy our screening criteria and was evaluated as part of our collaboration platform project. This does not mean that we would not recommend Lotus Connections in the right scenarios. Lotus Connections is a fine enterprise (employee) social networking tool, but falls short as a complete teamware tool.
When you mention that OpenText solution is affordable, what does this mean? The last time I looked at their solution, it was fairly expensive! have they changed their pricing model?
OK, never mind my last comment..$20 to $50 per user is still an expensive solution from my point of view...
I may be missing something here, but it pretty much looks like Microsoft has the mainstream answer. Dont see the economics from going off their ranch, so to speak. Yes, we all wish there was more competition (where is IBM anymore?), but Google isnt there yet. Buy it. Implement it correctly. Have a support model, and move on. Costs too much for the business not to address the leverage collaboration provides in today's business world. Nuff said.
