A Request for Proposal (RFP) is a document that details what a buyer is looking for in a product or service and solicits competitive proposals from suppliers. An RFP spells out requirements, schedules, budgets, and other information to help establish an understanding between buyer and supplier, which serves as a basis for a future contract. For a working example of an RFP, use the McLean Report “Request for Proposal Template.”
