While many IT professionals have been through a productivity software upgrade during their career, Office 2010 poses new challenges due to:

  • Some laggards still on Office XP or older.
  • The deployment options available for Office 2010.
  • Changes made to activation requirements.
  • The inclusion of OneNote in every version.

Microsoft provides several tools designed to help IT professionals upgrade from a previous version to Office 2010. Info-Tech recommends that organizations using Office 2003 migrate to Office 2010, while most enterprises currently running Office 2007 have less incentive to upgrade.
