Use this survey in conjunction with the advice in section 3 “Intervene through a 12 step program,” to determine what the nature of the problem is for your organization. In general there are three main conclusions that can be drawn from this survey:
- Many organizations lack the collaborative tools to allow users to reduce the number of emails sent.
- Users may not know what tools IT has already provided them to enhance communication and collaboration.
- Email is considered too vital to attempt any cultural or technical changes.
IT can plan and deploy a set of changes for conclusions 1 and 2.
