Calculating recovery time metrics for each application is an important goal for any Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP). In short, critical hardware and applications must be brought back online quickly and restored to their most recent backup point. This research note takes a close look at:

  • Calculating and formulating recovery metrics.
  • Defining the relationship between recovery and availability.
  • Finding out which technologies support established recovery objectives.
