Salesforce.com held its annual Dreamforce conference in November, 2008. The company announced formal integration of Salesforce.com with Facebook, enabling closed-loop marketing and sales between the social networking giant and Salesforce.com CRM applications and integration with any application developed on the force.com platform.

Jumping on the Social CRM Bandwagon with Facebook

The term “Social CRM” has emerged to describe the application of social networking and many other “Web 2.0” collaboration technologies to CRM. The opportunities for this technology integration include exploiting social networks for lead generation, marketing through social media, and maintaining customer communities for service and support.
