A recent Info-Tech study reveals that printer consolidation (PrC) is not a highly implemented initiative despite being a quick and efficient cost-reduction strategy. Understand what PrC is, why organizations shy away from it, and what the benefits are to implement.

What is Printer Consolidation?

PrC encompasses a range of initiatives that aim to reduce and optimize the number of devices in the printer fleet to decrease the cost of hardware, consumables (paper, ink, toner), electricity, and maintenance. Strategies include the following: elimination of inkjet or high-cost printers, sharing of workgroup printers, and the use of multi-function devices, among others.
