Implementing an IP Telephony (IPT) solution is a significant undertaking for most enterprises. Specific challenges exist, and if they are not addressed as part of the implementation project, budgets and timelines will be missed. There are a handful of pitfalls that many organizations have experienced to varying degrees. Understanding and mitigating the following pitfalls will go a long way toward ensuring implementation success:
- Preparing the enterprise LAN for IPT.
- Selecting the right WAN connectivity.
- Understanding infrastructure and staffing requirements prior to deployment.
