SUSE Linux offers an enterprise-grade platform upon which to build data center applications, most notably virtualization platforms. However, only 27% of enterprises with fewer than 500 employees presently deviate from a Microsoft-only data center.
Further highlights from the report include:
- Small and mid-sized (SME) operating system environments are typically homogenous to 100 employees.
- SMEs need to rely on vendor relationships when selecting a Linux vendor.
- Novell brings desktop Linux success and extensive support resources to SMEs pursuing typical deployments.
IT leaders are encouraged to consider SUSE Linux, particularly when building virtualization infrastructure or investigating desktop Linux.
