GSM dominates the global wireless market with roughly 85% market share. In mid-2007 GSM based technology was used by 2.5 billion subscribers worldwide and growing at 1 million subscribers every day (Source: 3G Americas). Compare that to the 417.5 million CDMA subscribers at the end of 2007 (Source: CDMA Development Group).
