Micro Focus Captures Compuware QA Assets and Bids for Borland

Micro Focus is a UK-based enterprise software vendor that provides application development, modernization, and portfolio management tools. Micro Focus has purchased the testing and quality assurance (QA) division of Compuware for $58 million in cash from its own reserves and a consortium of UK banks.

Micro Focus is also in the process of acquiring Borland Software with a bid of $75 million in cash ($1 per share). The boards of both companies have unanimously approved the offer, but, since that approval, an undisclosed buyer has offered $1.20 per share, also in cash.
