This tool can be used to identify cut candidates as objectively as possible and plan for IT operations post-downsize. This tool will help you to:
- Document required roles and match these roles to current employees within each IT area.
- Consider your target headcount post-downsize when identifying cut candidates and role reallocation.
- Compare and identify discrepancies between the target headcount and the number of employees currently allocated to each role within an IT area.
- Double check that all required roles are covered given employee role allocations.
- Determine which individuals should be considered as cut candidates by identifying who is under-allocated.
- Identify roles that have been over-assigned.
While staff downsizing in largely a mental and manual process, tools can help keep your thoughts sorted and decision-making clear. Use this tool not just for downsizing exercises but also for general staff planning and allocation activities.
