Hewlett-Packard (HP) is an industry-leading IT firm, with a pedigree in designing and supplying hardware products. To round out its product offerings, and to take advantage of the industry shift toward richer software applications, HP architected a software strategy. Rather than growing this segment organically, HP went on a shopping spree. It set about acquiring organizations with Intellectual Property (IP) that would help build a software portfolio. The result is a compelling software strategy for mid and large size organizations.
Currently, the software division sits within HP's Technology Solutions Group (TSG).
