- Breadth: Determine the focus of the enterprise architecture effort in terms of specific business units/functions/departments/capabilities or geographical areas.
- EA domains: Determine the EA domains (business, data, application, and technology) that are appropriate to address stakeholder concerns and architecture requirements.
- Depth: Determine the appropriate level of detail to be captured, based on the intended use of the enterprise architecture and the contingent decisions to be made.
- Time period: Determine the target state architecture’s objective time period.
