(14-Apr-10) The chief executive of technology reseller Softchoice Corp. is seeing a strong rebound in corporate spending on computers and servers, a trend consistent with chip maker Intel's results as the economy recovers.
"We are seeing double-digit growth for both our PCs and our servers and we're also seeing improved margins for the business," CEO David MacDonald said Wednesday.
The comments come as Intel nearly quadrupled its first-quarter profit over last year amid an upswing in spending on technology.
"We are seeing an equally aggressive rebound in server and PC spending and we're seeing that in our results and it's consistent with what Intel is saying," MacDonald said from Toronto.
Analysts say spending on computers by both businesses and consumers is on the rebound this year as the economy recovers and more expensive computers are being favoured again.
