Depending on the scope and complexity of a proposed Business Intelligence (BI) implementation, the project can require a variety of skill sets.  Help narrow the list of candidate solutions by including an IT skills assessment during the planning process.

When planning a green-field implementation of Business Intelligence (BI), enterprises need to consider whether or not they have the expertise in-house to effectively deploy the solution. Expertise can also become an issue for rapidly growing deployments or major changes in an existing toolset. The size and composition of the team will vary depending on the scale and complexity of the implementation. On the technology side, enterprises can require data management specialists, data and systems integrators, Web developers, and report designers to name just a few.  On the business side, IT may also be responsible for training end users. To learn more about the roles required for a successful BI implementation, refer to the ITA Premium research brief, “Structure the BI Team for Success.”
