Disasters are a problem that all enterprises face; while they may be unavoidable, they can be survivable.

  • A significant portion of organizations have no established Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) other than ad hoc capabilities. Further, for those that do have some form of internally-developed DRP, most of those plans have not been validated against the needs of the various business units.
  • Additionally, both groups have insufficient internal experience or expertise to appropriately rectify the situation and develop a justifiable plan. Finally, both groups recognize that the situation in which they find themselves is inappropriate, represents a deficiency, and needs to be corrected.
  • The development of a formal DRP that meets the needs of the business is a complex process that requires specialized knowledge and information.
