 James McCloskey

 Senior Research Analyst

James McCloskey is a Senior Research Analyst with Info-Tech Research Group. James has nearly 20 years of experience in IT, with extensive background in information security and networking.

Prior to joining Info-Tech, James was the Central Information Security Officer at the University of Western Ontario, where he worked closely with system and network administrators, information owners and University leaders to ensure the ongoing confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Western’s information systems.

Earlier in his career, James was the Information Security Officer at General Dynamics Land Systems Canada, where he worked with management and IT staff to deliver secure connectivity and collaboration solutions for a highly-mobile defense-contracting workforce.  Prior experiences consulting for the financial services industry and working on special projects for the deregulated Canadian long distance industry have also contributed to James’ expertise in delivering innovative and secure IT solutions and guidance in a wide variety of regulatory contexts.

James holds a Bachelor of Sciences (Physics) degree from Bishop’s University, and has held the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designation since 2001.
