Info-Tech Research Group provides IT research and advice to 21,000+ clients globally. We are proud of our research products which require thought leadership and dedicated effort to produce. To protect our investment in the research and to uphold the integrity of the Info-Tech brand, this policy outlines the parameters for usage of citations, quotes and press releases by other organizations and individuals.

Use of the Info-Tech Research Group name or research for sales, marketing or commercial efforts must first be approved by Vendor Relations. Each situation will be given appropriate review and timely response.

Citation of Research:

  • All research products, methodologies and tools produced by Info-Tech Research Group are proprietary to Info-Tech Research Group and are subject to copyright and intellectual property protections.
  • All external or commercial citation of the research is prohibited without our explicit written permission.
  • Reproduction in full of research materials is prohibited.
  • Citations must come directly from the written research.
  • The citations must be accurately cited within context of the written research.
  • Info-Tech research may not be used to negatively portray another company and/or its products.
  • After purchasing reprints, the client may promote Info-Tech reprints provided that the marketing materials are approved by Vendor Relations and it is clear that the report is a result of independent research.

Third-Party Originated Press Releases Guidelines

  • Press releases written by other organizations wishing to mention Info-Tech Research Group or reference research materials must be submitted to Vendor Relations for approval.
  • Any modifications to the releases following the granting of Info-Tech approval must be resubmitted for final approval.
  • Quotations included in the press release must be taken accurately from the research document and appropriately attributed.
  • Press releases referencing Info-Tech Research Group must include the company's boilerplate statement.

How to Seek Info-Tech's Approval

  • Contact Public and Vendor Relations at Info-Tech by emailing press@infotech.com or by calling 1-800-670-8889.
  • To submit a request, please provide Vendor Relations with the full citation and the context for your request. Please include a draft copy of any press releases and other marketing materials highlighting where Info-Tech is cited.

Citation of Info-Tech Decision Diamond

  • All citations of Info-Tech's Product Comparison and Evaluation reports are subject to Info-Tech's Citation policy.
  • All external or commercial citation of the Decision Diamond is prohibited without explicit written permission from Vendor Relations.
  • Citations must come directly from the Product Comparison and Evaluation reports.
  • Companies may cite their position as a Leader or Competitor in the Decision Diamond. Descriptions such as "Best in Class" or "Overall Winner" or "Number 1" may not be used in reference to positioning on the Decision Diamond.

Decision Diamond Press Release Guidelines

  • All press releases must be submitted for approval to Vendor Relations.
  • With permission, companies may use the following for press releases, newsletters and Web sites:

(Company Name) was among the companies chosen for Info-Tech Research Group's (month, year) Product Comparison research note on (Subject). The Decision Diamond assessment positions (Company Name) as a (Leader or Competitor) in this category.
