Brenda Kerton

Lead Research Analyst

Ms. Kerton has been in the information technology field for over twenty years. She has extensive experience in business systems analysis, business architecture, usability engineering, the software development lifecycle, and IT human resources management. As a Senior Analyst, Brenda’s research focus is on IT Compliance, Application Development and the Software Development Lifecycle.

Prior to joining Info-Tech, Brenda established and managed the Systems Analysis career center at London Life, a major Canadian financial services company. She started a system analyst advisory group in a multi-company IT organization. She set priorities and guided the operational plans, education and best practice work of over 100 systems analysts. Brenda has done extensive research in the area of business analysis and requirements engineering. She is currently Chair of the Body of Knowledge Committee for the International Institute of Business Analysis, an international not-for-profit association for Business Analysis professionals.

Brenda has successfully led a number of large initiatives covering privacy compliance, advanced learning systems, usability, expert systems and call center creation. She led a project to improve customer service, resulting in a system that achieved 800% ROI, and won the 1997 ITX award for technology innovation and excellence from the Conference Board of Canada.

As Leader, Architecture and Development for the 2001 Canada Summer Games, she developed the application architecture and led the analysis that successfully guided games software development.

Brenda has spoken at a variety of conferences on the topics of usability and requirements management. She developed curriculum and instructed an in-company 12-week Object Oriented Immersion school. She has also taught Organizational Learning at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario.

Brenda received her MA in Leadership from Royal Roads University. She has an ITIL certification and is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute.
