Ed Daugavietis

Senior Analyst

Ed Daugavietis is a Senior Analyst with Info-Tech Research Group. He brings a rich background in global networking and telecom markets built from 20 years with major industry players including Nortel and Bell Canada.  Previous leadership roles in market analysis, competitive intelligence, market forecasting and strategic marketing have equipped him with a deep understanding of market strategy and competitive dynamics. 

Prior to joining Info-Tech Research Group, Ed was one of the leaders of Nortel’s corporate Business Intelligence group. While there he supported divisional strategic planning, M&A, market analysis and developed detailed forecasts of market size and competitor shares.  His leadership of a series of cross-divisional industry studies assisted Nortel with the re-deployment of resources into new and promising market opportunities and new partner relationships.   

Ed’s current research focus is on IT decision-maker behavior, including corporate personality profiling.  He has taken numerous primary research studies to field to develop a broad understanding of the priorities, motivators and decision-making styles of IT buyers. 

Ed is currently an active board member of the Toronto Strategic Leadership Forum, for which he chairs the editorial committee.  He has an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University as well as a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario.
