Our story starts with Santiago, an old-school fisherman. None of this new-fangled NET stuff for him; he sticks with the point-to-point beauty of the hook and line. He is so devoted to old technology that he persists even though he fails to actually catch any fish. He bears the all-nighters and weekend work as badges of honor. Unfortunately, because of his inability to catch any fish, he’s starving.

He CICS The NET To Go Fish

The old man decides that instead of applying his chosen technology to a typical fishing project, he needs to adopt an even tougher one. He voyages well beyond the typical zone of day-to-day fishing operations and enters the Gulf Stream, which he knows is an area of incredibly thorny fishing projects. Surely this is an area where his tried and true--if dated and unproductive--technology can triumph. Before long, he has hooked the largest marlin he has ever seen. This fishing project is so complicated and difficult that Santiago experiences it as a test of his worthiness and his honor.
