Hosted Point of Sale (POS) solutions allow small- and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) to deploy a technologically advanced POS solution without significant or crippling investment in IT capital. Retailers planning to invest in IT infrastructure for a POS upgrade within the next 12 months should also consider hosted POS solutions.

While prices for POS hardware are dropping, a single in-store register upgrade can cost $15,000, including all hardware, software, training, installation, and support.
