Data centers are the beating heart of any enterprise. And like everything else, data center technologies and processes must change with the times. Based on surveys, client interviews, and anecdotal evidence, Info-Tech has identified seven key characteristics that data centers must possess or acquire in order to remain future-proof.

The Seven Characteristics of the Data Center of the Future

I. Super-Cooled

Liquid cooling for server racks is growing in popularity, and will continue to do so. With liquid cooling, waste heat is transferred to a liquid (water) very close to the source. For this reason, it is significantly more efficient than traditional air cooling where waste heat diffuses into the surrounding air and the entire room needs to be cooled.
