Usability Testing Case Study: Six Lessons Learned

The project required the implementation of a new Web application to be rolled out to existing clients and lay the groundwork for a future sales platform that could impact the company to the tune of millions of dollars. The application’s roll-out would be followed by major sales campaigns and would have a large impact on many areas of the company. Although the application was not large in scope, its tight deadline, and high expectations of return on investment caused the IT manager to execute semi-formal usability testing to mitigate the risk of failure. This case study details the team’s experience, discusses the perceived value gained, and outlines some lessons learned.
