Employing a team of skilled developers is paramount to an IT organization. Providing the tools necessary to integrate new developers into the organization is the responsibility of IT leaders and begins with effective onboarding. A structured onboarding process is crucial to provide developers with the information necessary to be productive on the job from day one.

The goal of an onboarding process is to integrate newcomers into the development team as efficiently as possible. Following a structured onboarding process ensures the orientation information being conveyed is clear and consistent, leaving little room for mixed messages.
