HP's Cluster Platform Aims at High Performance Computing

HP announced a bundled package aimed at creating a High Performance Computing (HPC) platform aimed at the mid-sized enterprise in November 2007 at the Supercomputing 2007 trade show. This package, labeled the HP Cluster Platform Workgroup System, includes the recently announced HP BladeSystem c3000 (“Shorty”) that is focused on small enterprise and branch office environments. It comes bundled with the Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server package to provide the OS and control functions for clustered, high performance applications.
