Sun Blade 6000 Shines as the Next Generation Blade Server

Sun has trailed virtually all vendors in the blade server market space. Their latest blade system, the Sun Blade 6000, rectifies the shortcomings of previous products and includes some interesting support and upgrade options that will get the attention of enterprises just beginning to investigate blades.

With the introduction of its Blade 8000 in 2006, Sun effectively reentered the blade server market. However, that product was not a competitive offering in the rapidly changing blade market (see the Info-Tech Premium evaluation: Blade Servers: Sun Blade 8000).
