Microsoft Office 2007 was designed using Microsoft’s new “Security Development Lifecycle” (SDL). The Microsoft SDL methodology was employed to help reduce the number of security defects and risks in the application code at every stage of the Office 2007 development process.

What Every Office 2007 Administrator Needs To Know

As a result of following the SDL, some existing security metaphors and features have changed in Office 2007 and new features have been added. In addition, new configuration options and policies for administrators have been added.
