In November 2006, Hitachi introduced its BladeSymphony 1000 product to the North American market. Based on Intel processors and offering redundant components, this blade server is competitive with the IBM, HP, and Dell offerings for the data center environment.
Continuing with its strategy to make inroads into the overall North American market, Hitachi launched the BladeSymphony 320 in late April 2007. This unit aims for the small enterprise market and edge server roles in larger enterprises. As with the BladeSymphony 1000, the new 320 utilizes Intel processors and offers hot-swap and redundant components for high availability.
