Since IP telephony (IPT) calls are transmitted as streams of IP packets, they are vulnerable to a number of network-based threats, such as eavesdropping and hijacking attempts. This creates a broad range of service delivery, privacy and regulatory implications for many enterprises. Encrypting call signaling and media streams for all calls will provide a very valuable level of security against call intrusion and disruption attempts.
